Beach Maternity Session

Last minute vacations are the best! While vacationing in Varadero for our 5th wedding anniversary, we managed to slip in a few maternity photos using a tripod and wireless trigger. I couldn't have imagined having my maternity session done by anyone other than Mr. Pearls and we had such an awesome time doing it too =)

Feeling chivalrous?

It's interesting to see how many people will actually give up their seat on the train for a pregnant woman. Jumped on a packed train this morning, and while I wasn't expecting anyone to give up their seat, it's amusing to see how many people a. avert their eyes, pretend not to see you b. looks then goes right back to sleep c. looks at you but responds with totally unaffected demeanour. I guess we all have to accept at one point that chivalry is indeed, dead.

I've been guilty of this too, I must admit. After a tiring 12-hour night shift, the last thing on my mind would be to give up my seat. Although, occasionally I would if I see someone who needs it more than I do. Isn't it nicer to be refused than to be branded unsympathetic?

Oh and I did get a seat eventually. From an older woman who was about two stops away from her destination. What does that say about you, young man in red backwards cap? Yes, you!?!

Anyway, have a lovely Tuesday!

Updated...

The train ride from my obstetrician got me thinking about where I was mentally and emotionally about the same time last year. It took so long before this miracle happened, I'm just happy I'm now seeing an OB instead of my fertility doctor.

After about a year of failed fertility treatments, I couldn't help but feel resentment. I see so many people not having any difficulty conceiving and we were still trying for a miracle that was starting to look further and further away.

I was stuck in a rut. At one point, i questioned whether it will still happen for us. I couldn't help thinking why certain things happened the way they did...why I was still waiting for this time to come. In my profession I have brought so many new lives in this world, yet I was still waiting for my turn. I prayed for God to only give me what He has planned for me, to help me accept things I cannot change. I know God had a plan and I just need to be patient. And of course, eventually I started to see what it was. All I really needed was time. So if in doubt, pray. God always provides.

Blogger App 😊

Hello, blogger friends!

Long time no anything! I just realized Blogger has launched a mobile app which would allow me to do more frequent postings since I'm always on my phone and on the go. It's been a crazy two months since my last post and I wish there was a way to somehow summarize everything that went on but I guess here's a short recap!

Instagram was such a fun way to keep track of my pregnancy updates and I keep thinking how much easier it will be to put everything together at the end of all this.

Photography wise, we've done a few shoots here and there which we've obviously has not had a chance to post. Pregnancy has kept me so preoccupied (and the fact that posting on Blogger was not the easiest or most convenient). Anyway, I'm hoping this change to mobile blogging will keep us more likely to update ☺

Happy long weekend, y'all!

Week 15 update!

Hello there! Been pre-occupied with taking weekly photos and surviving all day nausea for the last couple of weeks. Hope you're all doing well. Haven't been able to put together the latest photos we've done recently but I hope to do that in the next few weeks as well as add a few newer photos on our website. Through all these, we managed to sneak a short trip to NYC which was a fun food-filled trip for me and baby (and Mr. Pearls!) If you're not following me on instagram, here are my delayed weekly updates =)
Week 14 was in NYC. Which explains why I look bigger in Week 14 than Week 15 hahaha! I ate too much obviously hahaha =)

a new year surprise!

Wow, almost two months without an update! I can't believe it myself! Although, there is a reason for my absence. If you're not following me on FaceBook or Instagram, then you probably haven't heard that Mr. Pearls and I are expecting a very special someone next summer. Meet our little one...(and by little, I mean, literally!) Here's a sneak peek from our week 9 ultrasound!
I still can't believe it! Years of waiting and wishing and hoping and praying has finally paid off. While we certainly enjoyed four (soon to be 5!) years together, we can't contain our excitement about this new addition to our family. Thank you, family and friends for all your love and well wishes. Although we're in the early stages, we can't help but feel the love and excitement of everyone around us and we couldn't be more thankful for that. I always tell myself, there shouldn't be any delay in sharing your joy, so in our happiness now, we are taking you along with us. For the journey throughout this pregnancy is  not quite as meaningful without all your love, support and prayers.
Tomorrow is Week 12. Although I was looking forward to attempting weekly photos, I feel as though, without a proper baby bump, I look more like a fat lady who had too much to eat at dinner. It's still early but I feel sooooo fat! Hopefully, it'll be more flattering the next few weeks ;P I certainly won't miss the last three weeks of all day nausea and vomiting which supposedly should go away after week 12. Can you tell why I'm so excited about tomorrow?? Wish me luck!

Sneak Peek: Meet Joli!

All we really needed was a blanket and a nice patch of green =)
 Isn't she a cutie??
We had so much fun attempting to make this barely three month-old cutie sit on a piece of trunk her dad made into a beautiful piece of furniture.
We had to get her in her lumberjack costume! Love, love, love!
 One last look...

Sneak Peek: Daniela and Anthony Lifestyle Session

We had an idea to shoot a maternity session outdoors for a change and it was amazing to see what we eventually came up with. Isn't Daniela the cutest pregnant lady you've ever seen??? Love the turnout of this shoot.
We shot these photos last weekend (after being kicked out of Adamson Estate haha, I have a funny story to share with you all later. Moral lesson: make sure you obtain a park permit!) and so far this is my favourite of them all. Port Credit is not to shabby either. In fact, it was one of our favourite parks for photo shoots for its picturesque qualities. Daniela looked even prettier up close =)
 What a sweet moment!
So amazed at these two for being so willing to do what we've asked even if it meant lying down on the boardwalk! It was worth it though, wasn't it? =)
More pictures to come! Thanks, Anthony and Daniela. Can't wait to meet your little munchkin!

Latoya Maternity Shoot

Doing maternity shoots was something new for us this year and we were so happy we got to do a few of them early in the year. Latoya and Dre are such a fun couple and it was so amazing to be a part of this significant event in their lives. In the next few days, we'll be posting pictures of their little one who couldn't wait to be out and show the world what it really means to have fun. For now, here are our favourites out of their set.
Love Dre's smile here. So genuine and full of love :)
 What a beautiful couple!

Thanks again, Latoya and Dre! I hope you know how much we appreciate you both :)

Sneak Peek: Maternity Shoot

Is this a maternity shoot or an engagement shoot? Don't worry, I'm confused too. These two look so happy and so good together, we couldn't help taking photos of them. Congratulations, Dre and Toya on your newest addition! We can't wait to meet him soon. xoxo

time, i've been passing time...

Hey there. Still stuck in my picture-less paradise! Too bad I can't share new pictures with you because our first maternity set is beautiful. I love how this particular set is turning out to be. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll be able to share new pictures with you again =)

Here's a sneak peek... This is the instagram version so the bokeh filter is not really a part of the final edit. I was just having fun with it =)

By the way, we're visiting the beautiful city of Chicago next week and I'm so excited. I can't tell you yet why we're going but what's guaranteed is we're gonna have a great time. I just know it. I hope it's not such a short trip because we would have loved to offer photo sessions to interested Chicago residents particularly, a couple who's interested in having their photos taken by two out-of-town wedding photographers. Love if we can combine the two things we love to do (photography and travel) and make a living out of that. Anyway, I will update you as the date gets closer.

Happy Thursday!

Thanks August Empress for the cool background!
