Beach Maternity Session

Last minute vacations are the best! While vacationing in Varadero for our 5th wedding anniversary, we managed to slip in a few maternity photos using a tripod and wireless trigger. I couldn't have imagined having my maternity session done by anyone other than Mr. Pearls and we had such an awesome time doing it too =)

DIY: Crayola Hearts

Looking for a cool V-day project for your kids? Try this! Crayola hearts!

cupid's creme brulee

Haven't had a food post in a while. Haven't really cooked anything new or interesting either, but that doesn't prevent me from checking out other food bloggers who have amazing recipes and things to share. Hostess with the Mostess have the most amazing V-day recipes and decor ideas. This heart-topped creme brulee caught my eye. Visit the site now for the recipe and DIY!

UPDATE
Following the recipe and DIY, I made my own version. I didn't have a heart-shaped silicon mold which would have made it cuter. Just to show you how easy this recipe is, I made four of these in less than an hour. Try it now! Enjoy =)

unique food: nian gao

As a kid, I remember knowing when it's Chinese New Year because my mom would buy plenty of niángāo or tikoy during this time of the year. Niángāo is made from glutinous rice flour and is very popular in the Chinese community in the Philippines. It has been said that eating niángāo during this time of the year will bring good luck.  My bestfriend found this at the Asian market, imported from the popular Chinese community in the Philippines called Binondo . I haven't had tikoy in a while  so I was very excited to get the chance to cook it again =)
We usually would dip it in egg and fry it. I'm not sure I did this right. I'm sure my mom would know how to do this better, but it was good nevertheless =)
Happy Chinese New Year to all of you and may you all have the best of luck this Year of the Water Dragon!

holiday baking

I've been doing quite a bit of baking lately. Some for birthdays and some holiday themed. At least the warmth of my oven is keeping me at home and not the warmth of shopping mall crowds hehe. Not that shopping wouldn't be awesome this time of the year =)
 Football themed

For a Christmas party/Thomas the tank engine themed birthday party
This is supposed to be the little mermaid. Don't make fun haha =)

on vacation....

Can't believe it's been a week since my last post. We just finished another wedding over the rainy weekend, but we hopefully got decent fall shots out of it. My brain is also all over the place because I'm anticipating our must awaited vacation...escape the cold and muggy Canadian weather for the beautiful sandy beaches of......

Turks and Caicos!

We'll be staying at the picturesque...The Veranda Resort and Spa.

I will write a review on our way back. I am actually hoping to bring our laptop and try to do some work while we're there (I know! Crazy, right?!?)

Looks like I'm gonna be distracted for the rest of the week until we leave!
