Feeling chivalrous?

It's interesting to see how many people will actually give up their seat on the train for a pregnant woman. Jumped on a packed train this morning, and while I wasn't expecting anyone to give up their seat, it's amusing to see how many people a. avert their eyes, pretend not to see you b. looks then goes right back to sleep c. looks at you but responds with totally unaffected demeanour. I guess we all have to accept at one point that chivalry is indeed, dead.

I've been guilty of this too, I must admit. After a tiring 12-hour night shift, the last thing on my mind would be to give up my seat. Although, occasionally I would if I see someone who needs it more than I do. Isn't it nicer to be refused than to be branded unsympathetic?

Oh and I did get a seat eventually. From an older woman who was about two stops away from her destination. What does that say about you, young man in red backwards cap? Yes, you!?!

Anyway, have a lovely Tuesday!

Updated...

The train ride from my obstetrician got me thinking about where I was mentally and emotionally about the same time last year. It took so long before this miracle happened, I'm just happy I'm now seeing an OB instead of my fertility doctor.

After about a year of failed fertility treatments, I couldn't help but feel resentment. I see so many people not having any difficulty conceiving and we were still trying for a miracle that was starting to look further and further away.

I was stuck in a rut. At one point, i questioned whether it will still happen for us. I couldn't help thinking why certain things happened the way they did...why I was still waiting for this time to come. In my profession I have brought so many new lives in this world, yet I was still waiting for my turn. I prayed for God to only give me what He has planned for me, to help me accept things I cannot change. I know God had a plan and I just need to be patient. And of course, eventually I started to see what it was. All I really needed was time. So if in doubt, pray. God always provides.

Blogger App 😊

Hello, blogger friends!

Long time no anything! I just realized Blogger has launched a mobile app which would allow me to do more frequent postings since I'm always on my phone and on the go. It's been a crazy two months since my last post and I wish there was a way to somehow summarize everything that went on but I guess here's a short recap!

Instagram was such a fun way to keep track of my pregnancy updates and I keep thinking how much easier it will be to put everything together at the end of all this.

Photography wise, we've done a few shoots here and there which we've obviously has not had a chance to post. Pregnancy has kept me so preoccupied (and the fact that posting on Blogger was not the easiest or most convenient). Anyway, I'm hoping this change to mobile blogging will keep us more likely to update ☺

Happy long weekend, y'all!

Melissa and Andy Wedding

One of our favourite sessions from last year was Melissa and Andy's wedding. Not only did we enjoy their colourful traditional ceremony but we also loved that our business relationship has blossomed into a beautiful friendship. These two were so easy to work with and shooting their wedding was a breeze! Who knew putting shoes on could look this elegant and charming? Way to go, Melissa!
Mel looks stunning in this picture!
Her parents room had perfect lighting. Loved that we got to shoot with as much natural light as we did.
And of course, with her beautiful dress, we need a flowy, back picture.
Andy looked dapper in this gray suit.
He made it look so effortless! (and if you remember, he was sooo shy!)
My favourite picture of these two was from their first dance. It's so amazing to see two people who absolutely adore each other!
Andy and Melissa, thank you for allowing us to witness and document your beautiful wedding! We love each and every single detail and we hope to meet more couples as genuinely kind as you two!

Luisa and Diego Skating Themed Engagement Session

This post is waaay overdue. In fact, these two lovebirds got married just last week. We were so excited to do this session because these two were such troopers when it came to engagement photo ideas. We always wanted to do a skating themed shoot and finally, here it is!
They're such naturals behind the camera and both are so photogenic!
This is one of my favourites!
Luisa said one of Diego's assets were his eyebrows. We couldn't agree more!
Several loops later, we were able to capture these sweet moments. Love, love, love!

Week 15 update!

Hello there! Been pre-occupied with taking weekly photos and surviving all day nausea for the last couple of weeks. Hope you're all doing well. Haven't been able to put together the latest photos we've done recently but I hope to do that in the next few weeks as well as add a few newer photos on our website. Through all these, we managed to sneak a short trip to NYC which was a fun food-filled trip for me and baby (and Mr. Pearls!) If you're not following me on instagram, here are my delayed weekly updates =)
Week 14 was in NYC. Which explains why I look bigger in Week 14 than Week 15 hahaha! I ate too much obviously hahaha =)

a new year surprise!

Wow, almost two months without an update! I can't believe it myself! Although, there is a reason for my absence. If you're not following me on FaceBook or Instagram, then you probably haven't heard that Mr. Pearls and I are expecting a very special someone next summer. Meet our little one...(and by little, I mean, literally!) Here's a sneak peek from our week 9 ultrasound!
I still can't believe it! Years of waiting and wishing and hoping and praying has finally paid off. While we certainly enjoyed four (soon to be 5!) years together, we can't contain our excitement about this new addition to our family. Thank you, family and friends for all your love and well wishes. Although we're in the early stages, we can't help but feel the love and excitement of everyone around us and we couldn't be more thankful for that. I always tell myself, there shouldn't be any delay in sharing your joy, so in our happiness now, we are taking you along with us. For the journey throughout this pregnancy is  not quite as meaningful without all your love, support and prayers.
Tomorrow is Week 12. Although I was looking forward to attempting weekly photos, I feel as though, without a proper baby bump, I look more like a fat lady who had too much to eat at dinner. It's still early but I feel sooooo fat! Hopefully, it'll be more flattering the next few weeks ;P I certainly won't miss the last three weeks of all day nausea and vomiting which supposedly should go away after week 12. Can you tell why I'm so excited about tomorrow?? Wish me luck!

Sneak Peek: Rebecca & Ranson

Our last wedding of the year! These two were so much fun to shoot. We fell in love with their beautiful wedding and such warm and loving family members who made us feel like we were a part of their family. Although their ceremony was not done outside as previously hoped, the indoor ceremony was beautiful and gave us the best lighting condition. I can't stress how much fun we had photographing this two!

 One of my favourite shots!

Rebecca's mom, Debbie had her beautiful convertible cleaned and detailed for this very occasion (Thanks, Debbie!). It was such a nice bonus. We were blessed also with a sudden change in weather that created this beautiful shade of blue.
I have to post this picture of Rebecca. She looks stunning! Love those butterflies even though they were probably tired from being in the boxes for awhile...

Sneak Peek! Marlene & Chris

Hello! It's been a busy (and rainy!) wedding season, but we somehow managed to still do a few photo sessions this fall. I was a little disappointed at the weather because we've had to cancel/rebook/cancel our appointments due to uncooperative weather. I say, why not bring out the umbrellas and hunter boots! Anyway, with our Eurotrip this fall, we had quite a busy season, and still attempting to get caught up with updating our blog and website. Hopefully, we'll be catch up before the holiday madness starts. Anyway, here's a sneak peek of our fall engagement shoot =)

Love this shot!
Thanks to Chris' cousin for lending us his super slick Corvette!

Chance shots with lots of awesome lighting.
 Love this!!

Thanks August Empress for the cool background!
